WittKieffer is partnering with the YMCA of the USA (Y-USA) to recruit a Chief Operating Officer (COO), a newly created role designed to drive and implement the important work of the YMCA’s National Resource Office. The Y-USA supports more than 760 member associations in their efforts to fulfill their mission of putting Christian principles into practice that build healthy spirit, mind and body. The COO will have the opportunity to help impact millions of lives through the YMCA’s trailblazing programs and reach. In the United States, the Y Movement is comprised of the YMCA of the USA and over 2,650 Ys serving 11 million people in 10,000 communities spread across all 50 states, plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Local Ys are essential social, health, and development anchors in thousands of communities across the country.
The COO will be integral in aligning the Y-USA’s strategic vision with operational capabilities, driving the effective roll-out of programs, and scaling the infrastructure to strengthen the Y-USA’s value and impact to local Ys throughout the country. The successful candidate will be responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the Y-USA and will report to Suzanne McCormick, Y-USA CEO.
This role is designed for a mission-oriented, servant leader who can lead Y-USA operations which support a complex $8 billion federated national organization while having the ability to help impact the country’s largest health and human services nonprofit to strengthen its communities. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, highly engaged, leader who is operationally focused, data-driven and has strong business and financial acumen. This executive will lead through influence, be collaborative, results-oriented, and have demonstrated success in achieving positive outcomes. It will be critical for this executive to have the ability to be a connector of people and teams and to thread across a complex organization.

The offered compensation will be a base salary in the mid-to-upper $500,000 range plus bonus and benefits.
