With equipment and technology comparable with urban health systems, including Varian TrueBeam radiation therapy, the Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center offers a full spectrum of oncology services, including advanced diagnostic imaging, innovative treatment options, and comprehensive support services.
Reporting to the Vice President Provider Services and dyad to the Cancer Center Medical Director, the Director of the Cancer Center is a critical leadership role responsible for the overall direction, management, and operational planning of the center. This position involves administrative coordination and creative solutions to support this rural oncology program. Additionally, they are responsible for developing and managing the oncology budget, expanding outreach and program offerings through community and regional partnerships, and representing oncology on committees and at external events.
This is an onsite role based in Truckee, CA.
In this role, the Director will:
- Develop and manage Cancer Center budget; monitors expenditures and staffing for budgetary compliance.
- Collaborate with system and local partners to ensure patients are provided the highest level of support services possible.
- Work with accreditation specialist to ensure that all timelines and requirements are met for the specific programs.
- Works closely with Dyad on business strategy.
- Collaborate with the Marketing department to assist in the development and delivery of marketing plans and public relation programs.
- Assures the center is in compliance with institutional, state, and federal policies and procedures, including accrediting organizations
The preferred candidate will possess five or more years of relevant experience, with a minimum of five years of experience in operational leadership in an Oncology service line. Experience in a rural health oncology clinic or hospital-based outpatient oncology clinic is required. RN/ clinical licensure plus a Master’s degree is preferred.
Salary Range: $185,931 – $223,098.
