WittKieffer has been retained to conduct the search for Cook Children’s Health Care System’s (Cook Children’s) Assistant Vice President, Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (AVP, Deputy CISO). Cook Children’s includes more than 80 clinics, a 486-bed hospital, a brand new medical center in Prosper, a 540+ doctor physician network, a children’s health plan, children’s home health services and other companies under the Cook Children’s umbrella. The health system is ranked seven specialties in U.S. News and World Report’s list of Best Children’s Hospitals for 2024-2025.
Information security is a significant area of focus for Cook’s board and senior executive team. As such, the AVP, Deputy CISO is a critical hire and will have broad visibility across the health system. The AVP, Deputy CISO will report to the Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer (VP/CISO) and will be a key member of the information security leadership team, providing the operational leadership to continue in the development of a robust information security program. The AVP, Deputy CISO will lead the Identity, Access and Risk Management and IT Network and Cybersecurity Engineering and Architecture teams. The AVP, Deputy CISO will also collaborate closely with VP/CISO as well as the Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer on all HIPPA, contracting and other complex needs.
The ideal candidate for the AVP, Deputy CISO position will be a dynamic executive with a track record of success in information security, preferably in a complex healthcare setting. They will be viewed as a trusted advisor who is genuine, collaborative and customer-centric. This position requires a leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to develop relationships at all levels of an organization. The AVP, Deputy CISO will have the ability to assist in leading a premier information security program and manage change in a growing and transforming health system.
