Orlando Health seeks a collaborative, strategic executive to serve as the next President of Baptist Health Walker Hospital, (Walker Hospital), located in Jasper, AL. The President will be joining Walker Hospital during a pivotal period of growth and change for the organization as Orlando Health seeks to transform healthcare across Central Alabama.
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Orlando Health, and President, Alabama Region, Thibaut van Marcke, the President will be joining a 267-bed community hospital poised for rapid growth. In partnership with facility and regional leadership, the President will develop the strategy and vision for Walker Hospital that translates the trends and market dynamics into meaningful goals that will position the hospital for long-term success. The President will identify opportunities to grow the hospital’s market share, expand its footprint, and improve access across the community. This executive must develop strong partnerships with physician leaders and the medical staff to build trust and ensure alignment with hospital, regional, and system goals. The President will serve as an advocate for employee engagement and patient experience. The President will also represent the hospital and health system in the community. This executive will be expected to engage with community leaders throughout the area to better serve the public health needs of the community. The President will be a highly collaborative, values-driven leader who inspires and empowers the facility’s leadership team.
The President will be an inclusive, innovative, metrics driven leader with deep knowledge of healthcare operations and the strategic foresight to anticipate growth opportunities. They will bring forward an engaging style to build trusting relationships with all key stakeholders, including physicians and community leaders. The new leader will be a quality champion focused on the patient experience and meaningful outcomes that foster the community’s health.
Candidates should have a minimum of seven years of executive leadership experience in a hospital, preferably within a large, integrated health system, with a track record of success achieving strong financial, operational, and quality performance. Candidates should be viewed as an effective communicator and relationship builder and have extensive experience partnering with physicians. Candidates must be viewed as a community leader and understand the importance of a health system’s relationship with its local community. This executive will be expected to reside in the service area.
