Hendersonville, NC – WittKieffer is partnering with UNC Health Pardee BlueMD in their search for a dynamic, distinguished executive to serve as Chief Operating Officer. This is a unique opportunity to join a highly regarded, mission-driven Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) subrecipient focused on providing culturally competent, quality primary healthcare services to all patients, regardless of ability to pay.
Launched in 2022, Pardee BlueMD was formed by the collaboration of UNC Health Pardee and Blue Ridge Health (BRH), whereby Pardee is a subrecipient of BRH’s Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This status has allowed both Pardee and BRH to more ardently pursue innovation in reducing gaps in care, creating a more seamless delivery model, and improving patient outcomes. Over the last several years, Pardee BlueMD has grown significantly, from 14 providers to 72 now on staff. Pardee BlueMD’s clinicians service the community from 20 different locations, providing a wide range of services, including primary care, women’s care, child healthcare, behavioral health, pharmacy services, care management, social services, dietary counseling, sports medicine, laboratory and diagnostic services, and a mobile ultrasound service.
Reporting to UNC Health Pardee SVP/Chief Administrative Officer and Pardee BlueMD CEO, Johnna Reed, the COO will oversee Pardee BlueMD compliance with HRSA’s UDS guidelines and business operations. Collaboration with Blue Ridge Health’s operations and compliance team through structured processes is critical. Business operations oversight includes goal setting for operations leaders, operational and capital budgeting, leader development, workforce planning, clinical quality, population health, and coordination with support services such as marketing, IT, HR, and finance/accounting. As Pardee BlueMD continues its growth trajectory, the COO will lead and accelerate the adoption of process standardization and best practices in achieving operational excellence.
Pardee BlueMD will prioritize candidates with leadership experience in FQHCs, especially depth in HRSA. Connecting with the mission, values, and culture of the organization is a must, as is strong emotional intelligence. The next COO will thrive under the changing environment of the community health center landscape and be a part of a team of national thought leaders and subject matter experts working closely together to achieve the organization’s mission.
