Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), part of Jefferson Health, is seeking their next Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg in Bethlehem, PA. The COO will function as the top campus leader at the expanding Muhlenberg location.
Lehigh Valley Health Network is a nationally ranked premier health system with a rich legacy of providing patient-focused high-quality care. Based in Allentown, LVHN is a five-time Magnet designated health system, serving a dynamic and growing region with the third largest population in the state of Pennsylvania. The health network includes 14 hospital campuses and is home to The Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital. The combined system, operating under the Jefferson Health brand is one of the largest nonprofit hospital systems in the US, with 32 hospitals and over 700 care sites. The merger aims to improve patient access to affordable care, clinical research and health plans, while addressing health inequities in eastern Pennsylvania. Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg is a 315-bed hospital serving residents of Lehigh and Northampton counties, as well as nearby communities in New Jersey with a broad range of services.
Reporting directly to the Regional President, Jefferson Health-Lehigh East Region, James Miller, the COO will be responsible for all hospital daily administrative and operational functions. The COO role requires an operationally and strategically astute executive who will develop a strong partnership with key constituents and provide focused leadership resulting in strong operational performance, clinical transformation, and growth from an ambulatory standpoint as well as campus expansion.
This is an excellent opportunity for a relationship-oriented, entrepreneurial leader who has experience working within a complex, matrixed organization. Candidates should be high energy, collaborative, and skilled in growth strategy. A master’s degree and seven to ten years of experience serving in senior leadership roles will be required.
