Jackson Health System (JHS) seeks a strategic and mission-driven physician leader as an inaugural Chief Medical Officer for the Miami Transplant Institute (CMO/MTI). This pivotal role presents an extraordinary opportunity for an experienced and visionary leader to ensure MTI continues to be a beacon of excellence in the field of transplant services.
The Miami Transplant Institute, backed by the world-class resources of Jackson Health System (JHS) and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, offers life-saving transplant, support, and rehabilitation programs to children and adults facing organ failure. No other center in the nation has performed more transplants, and MTI consistently ranks among the top three programs nationally for kidney, kidney-pancreas, liver, intestinal, and multivisceral transplants. With a dedicated team of renowned transplant surgeons, physicians, and specialists, the Institute leverages its expertise to provide lifesaving and life-enhancing procedures.
The CMO/MTI will be responsible for driving excellence in transplant services, ensuring that MTI continues to grow and serve the community. This leader will promote strong multidisciplinary collaboration, systemization, and integration of transplant care. The CMO/MTI will also foster a culture of innovation, mentorship, and continuous improvement, aligning with Jackson Health’s mission of delivering high-quality, patient-centric care. The CMO/MTI will be proactive in building relationships across JHS and with key partners at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
The successful candidate will be a board-certified physician with a distinguished clinical background in transplant care, hepatology, nephrology, cardiology or a related field, and a demonstrated track record of leading successful transplant programs. This leader will have experience working in a complex healthcare environment and a proven ability to enhance clinical outcomes, inspire teams, and implement strategic initiatives. The CMO/MTI will be an exceptional communicator committed to growth, diversity, and collaboration. It is expected that the incoming CMO/MTI will continue to practice clinically in addition to their administrative responsibilities.
