The Children’s National Heart Center serves as the epicenter for high quality and innovative pediatric cardiac care in the nation’s capital. The Heart Center is dedicated to providing services across the full spectrum of cardiac care, from the most common to the most complex cases, from the prenatal period to the adult with congenital heart disease. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, the Center offers state-of-the-art cardiac care through specialized cardiac imaging and diagnostics, interventional cardiology and electrophysiology, cardiac surgery, and cardiac intensive care.
This leader will play a critical role in ensuring quality of care, patient safety, patient and family satisfaction, staff and provider engagement, and appropriate growth of revenue through various strategies and tactics. This position is strongly oriented towards establishing a consultative, proactive business partner role with the Executive Leadership Team. Ultimately, this leader will ensure that Gillette Children’s fulfills its mission, adheres to its core values, and strives for a world where every child can create their own story.
Reporting to the Vice President and Associate Chief Nursing Officer, the Director of Inpatient Nursing serves as an integral member of the Nursing Leadership Team. The Director is accountable to provide oversight and leadership of the Heart Center. The position assures service development, personnel management, resource allocation, fiscal management, and evidence-based nursing practice to ensure quality patient care. The Center’s reach is broad, with 22 clinics strategically located in communities in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Patients receiving care at the Heart Center have access to a 26-bed Cardiac ICU, a 20-bed Heart and Kidney Unit, 3 Cardiac Cath Labs and an Interventional Cardiac MRI.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a graduate degree in business administration, nursing, health care administration. This individual will have progressive leadership experience in a complex pediatric hospital environment or have a mix of hospital leadership and pediatric nursing experience.
The salary range for the role is anticipated to be between $185,000 – $215,000. The final hiring salary is commensurate with experience.
