Children’s National (CN), based in Washington, D.C., is seeking candidates for the role of Vice President of HR Partnership and Relations. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, Gina Cronin, the VP of HR Partnership and Relations will lead the organization’s HR Business Partner, Employee & Labor Relations, and HR Compliance functions. This role will provide oversight to the HR Business Partner model to optimize HR’s partnership with various business units across CN and their leadership. The VP will implement structures to foster a culture of development and accountability, ensuring that Children’s National remains a leader in pediatric healthcare.

The VP of HR Partnership and Relations will play a crucial role in shaping the HR landscape at CN. This role demands a visionary leader who can navigate the complexities of labor relations while fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a passion for driving organizational success through effective human resource management.
The VP will lead the HR partnership with business units and client group leaders, champion a culture of accountability, and oversee the HR Business Partner function. The VP will manage employee relations to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture, develop and execute the labor relations strategy, and ensure compliance with labor laws through regular audits and policy updates. The VP will also oversee the employee grievance process, manage relationships with external legal counsel, and train the workforce on operating in a union environment.
The successful candidate will be a forward-thinking, strategic, collaborative, skilled and innovative leader with proven experience in labor and employee relations. The Vice President will display integrity in behavior and decision-making and will demonstrate a commitment to understanding multiple perspectives. A bachelor’s degree along with at least 10 years of progressive experience in HR, labor, or legal roles, including 7 years in leadership positions overseeing relevant functions. A master’s degree in a Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a JD is preferred.

The estimated compensation range for this position is $300,000 – $330,000. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to the scope of the role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation.
