Children’s Wisconsin (Children’s) is seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking technology leader to serve as its Chief Information and Digital Officer (CIDO). This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-quality, financially stable system with an outstanding culture and extraordinary mission.
Children’s is a premier, independent, and fully integrated health system dedicated exclusively to the health and well-being of children. The system includes a 304-bed hospital in the Milwaukee region, a 42-bed hospital in Neenah, Wis., and a robust primary care network. Comprehensive specialty care is provided in more than 70 disciplines through Children’s Specialty Group, a provider group practice partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin. Additional services include urgent care centers, foster and adoption services, child advocacy initiatives, and insurance coverage for over 150,000 members through Chorus Community Health Plans. Reporting to Gil Peri, President and Chief Executive Officer, the CIDO will be a pivotal member of the executive senior leadership team, shaping the organization’s digital, analytics and technology strategies for the future. The incoming CIDO will create and execute a visionary strategic plan to integrate technology across the enterprise in alignment with system-wide strategic goals. Priorities include ongoing efforts to optimize Children’s Epic system (recently rated at 9-gold stars) and leveraging digital tools to transform child and adolescent health. Leading a committed and high-performing team, the CIDO will further develop organizational governance to ensure that resources are allocated to maximize impact. The CIDO will establish a roadmap to enhance care delivery, operational efficiency, and the overall child and family experience.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading and advancing technology within a large, complex health system. This individual must be an engaging and relationship-focused leader, adept at fostering collaboration across the health system. The CIDO will be able to articulate a compelling vision, secure buy-in from stakeholders, and work with senior leadership to identify and prioritize technology investments that align with business objectives. Establishing a robust prioritization framework will be critical—one that ensures collaboration and feedback without hindering progress. This leader must balance strong operational execution with an acute awareness of emerging trends and advancements in the healthcare technology landscape.
