Chief Executive Officer
Northeast Valley Health Corporation
San Fernando, CA - United States
Northeast Valley Health Corporation (NEVHC) is seeking a visionary, mission-driven, and collaborative executive to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This leadership opportunity arises as Kimberly Wyard, who has guided NEVHC with exceptional dedication for over 50 years, prepares for retirement. Under her leadership, NEVHC has become a vital healthcare provider for underserved populations, navigating challenges such as the pandemic while fostering growth and strengthening relationships across the service area.
With $160 million in operating revenue and approximately 1,200 employees, NEVHC stands as one of the largest Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in California. The organization is deeply committed to delivering high-quality, comprehensive healthcare and safety net services to the most vulnerable residents of the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys.
Since its founding in 1974, NEVHC has remained steadfast in its mission to address health inequities. The organization now operates 18 health centers and 9 Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) sites, serving over 81,000 patients annually. Additionally, its Cooperative Health Care for the Homeless Network supports 14,000 individuals experiencing homelessness across Los Angeles County, and its WIC program assists 39,000 women, infants, and children.
The incoming CEO will report to the Board of Directors and will lead NEVHC’s strategic vision, operational excellence, and mission fulfillment. This leader must navigate the transition from a beloved, long-serving CEO while earning the trust and respect of staff and stakeholders. As the healthcare landscape shifts toward value-based care, the CEO will be tasked with enhancing sustainability through innovation, efficiency, and the development of a strong infrastructure to meet the demands of a dynamic industry.
Key priorities include addressing workforce challenges, fostering employee engagement, and improving access to care across NEVHC’s service area. The CEO must also build strong relationships with labor unions and external partners while ensuring operational efficiency internally. This role requires a visible, inspirational, and relationship-driven leader who can champion NEVHC’s mission on local, regional, and national levels, all while advancing equity, collaboration, and organizational excellence. The total compensation range for this position is $350,000 to $400,000, commensurate with experience.
