Episcopal Health Services, Inc. (EHS), located in Queens, New York, seeks nominations and applications for its Senior Director, Oncology position. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and growth-oriented oncology leader to guide the building and expansion of oncology services throughout the region, while partnering with medical staff to ensure a focus on delivery of care and superb outcomes.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Senior Director will collaborate with physicians and staff across the oncology service line and EHS to build inpatient and ambulatory oncology services as a community-focused and high-quality provider of care. The Senior Director will be innovative, visible, and transparent, with excellent communication skills and a proven ability to build relationships, trust, and credibility across diverse stakeholders and functional leaders within a complex health system. They will leverage EHS’s capabilities and resources to develop oncology services and achieve strategic growth, while being committed to closing healthcare disparities in the communities that EHS serves.
Priorities for the new leader include driving growth, ensuring strong operational performance, improving access to care, and fostering outstanding engagement among physicians, staff, and patients. Accountabilities encompass developing and implementing a strategic vision for oncology services, creating programs and services that address community needs, and ensuring culturally competent and consistent care delivery across the service line in coordination with EHS’s care continuum. Key deliverables for the new leader will be the ability to cultivate productive relationships with physicians, staff, and the EHS Executive Leadership Team.
EHS, the largest employer on the Peninsula, has a dedicated team of more than 400 physicians, over 1,500 employees, and many committed volunteers. St. John’s Episcopal Hospital is Episcopal Health Services, Inc.’s main campus location. The 257-bed acute care facility is widely recognized as the only hospital providing emergency and ambulatory care to the densely populated surrounding communities that are culturally and economically diverse and medically underserved. EHS is dedicated to promoting health care equity and ensuring that all oncology patients have access to high quality care, regardless of their background, circumstances or ability to pay.
The successful candidate will be a healthcare leader with at least five years of experience in progressive healthcare management roles and a minimum of three years of experience in an oncology leadership role. A master’s degree in health care or a business-related field is required. Experience in oncology services is required for the role. The SD Oncology will be an oncology leader skilled at strategy and operations, with exceptional knowledge of all aspects of oncology. The expected salary range for this position is $210,000 – $220,000.
