Chief Health Informatics Officer
Vandalia Health
Charleston, WV - United States
Vandalia Health is seeking a visionary physician leader to serve as its Chief Health Informatics Officer (CHIO), a pivotal role that will shape the future of the organization. As a key strategic hire, the CHIO will play a central role in crafting and implementing a comprehensive enterprise-wide strategy for electronic medical record (EMR) platforms, driving the integration and optimization of digital health solutions across the entire health system. This position presents a unique opportunity to lead transformative initiatives to enhance patient care and streamline clinician workflows in a newly formed system.
Vandalia Health was formed in September 2022 through the combination of CAMC Health System and Mon Health System. Continuing this growth, several hospitals and another system, Davis Health, have also been added. With this extensive network featuring 17 hospitals, providers, outpatient locations, and telemedicine centers, Vandalia Health is providing care across West Virginia, with additional locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia.
As the key liaison between IT and the clinical community, the CHIO will spearhead the creation of an enterprise-wide informatics strategy as Vandalia moves toward an integrated EMR system. This role will champion the implementation and adoption of this new integrated EMR system, enhance clinician literacy in usage, and drive innovation across the health system. This role will further be crucial in driving the organization’s data, analytics, and artificial intelligence initiatives, serving as the clinical informatics leader across the entire health system.
The ideal candidate will be a transformative leader with outstanding relationship-building and team development skills, adept at driving positive change. They will establish strong, trusting partnerships and communicate effectively across all levels of Vandalia, demonstrating a commitment to being customer-focused and patient-centered. The CHIO will play a vital role in guiding change and delivering impactful results within a complex, evolving health system, making a significant contribution to a new system and driving healthy outcomes across West Virginia and beyond.
