The University of Louisville (UofL) seeks a strategic and collaborative leader to serve as its next Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer (EVP/CFO).

The incoming Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer will report directly to President Kim Schatzel, who began her tenure on February 1st, 2023. The EVP/CFO leads a large, diverse team of 500 staff members and helps manage UofL’s $1.7 billion operational budget. The EVP/CFO oversees and strengthens the University’s financial units in order to execute the University’s strategic plan, support innovation, and fulfill the mission of the University. The EVP/CFO communicates financial goals and opportunities to the University community. It has primary responsibility for financial planning and reporting, cash management, operating and capital budgets, accounting services, debt management and endowment, payroll, and treasury services. The EVP/CFO will serve as a strategic partner to the President, Board, and senior leadership while also closely collaborating with UofL Health and the School of Medicine.
The University of Louisville seeks a savvy financial leader with significant fiscal and administrative experience in complex academic settings, strong financial management skills, familiarity with research universities, and collaborative problem-solving abilities. The next EVP/CFO should bring exceptional communication skills and have a strong track record of leading and managing teams effectively. A master’s degree and 10 or more years of relevant experience are required. Candidates are strongly preferred to have experience in a public higher education institution with medical and research operations.
