CentraCare seeks an experienced, strategic, community-oriented executive to serve as the next President of CentraCare – Willmar (CC Willmar). This is an exciting opportunity serve as the market leader for a thriving health system committed to serving and driving excellence in care in rural communities.
CentraCare – Willmar, formerly known as Carris Health, was formed in 2018 following the merger of Rice Memorial Hospital and Affiliated Community Medical Centers (ACMC) with CentraCare, aimed at enhancing healthcare services in the region. In 2019, Family Practice Medical Center also joined CentraCare – Willmar. Today, it employs over 1,400 people and includes Rice Memorial Hospital, four clinics, and additional specialty facilities. CentraCare is a $1.85 billion integrated health system with more than 12,500 employees and providers, serving ten hospitals (one of which is under a management agreement) and 30 clinics across central and southwestern Minnesota. A physician-led organization with a large, employed physician population, CentraCare has enjoyed a long history of clinical excellence, a strong financial position, and significant market share in the communities it serves.
Reporting directly to the Vice President – Regional Markets of CentraCare, the President will provide leadership and oversight for all hospital and ambulatory operations across CC Willmar. It is vital for the President to establish strong partnerships with physician leaders and medical staff to build trust and ensure alignment with the market and system’s strategic goals and priorities. As CC Willmar aims to enhance and grow the services it provides, the President will need to be actively engaged in physician and staff recruitment. Additionally, the President must clearly and comfortably engage with the Willmar community and serve as the face of the organization throughout the region while also functioning as an effective leader within a large, highly matrixed health system.
The successful candidate will have significant and broad operational and executive leadership experience in a community hospital within an integrated health system. The President must have a stellar track record of building trust with system leaders, providers, and staff. Candidates should have extensive experience in rural healthcare and have a track record of success achieving strong financial, operational, and quality performance. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator and relationship builder and have extensive experience partnering with physicians. The President will be expected to reside in the service area of CC Willmar.
