OSF HealthCare seeks a strategic, savvy leader to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer, Central Region (CEO). OSF HealthCare, headquartered in Peoria, Illinois, is an integrated health system owned and operated by The Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis. The system employs more than 23,000 Mission Partners across 158 locations, including 16 hospitals with 2,097 licensed beds and over 2,000 providers throughout Illinois and Michigan. The CEO will lead the Central Region, a $1.3 billion operation consisting of the system’s flagship hospital 642-bed hospital, OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. The region also includes OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois, OSF Transitional Care Hospital, OSF Aviation, an ambulatory surgery center, and other regionally based ambulatory clinic sites. The CEO will also be the strategic and operational leader for the several key service lines at the system level.
Reporting to the System Chief Operating Officer, the CEO will be responsible for setting a vision and strategy and the operational performance of the Central Region. In alignment with the vision and values of OSF Healthcare, this leader will have a critical role in defining a strategy of how to care for the communities of Central Illinois across the continuum of care. The CEO will balance strategy with operations and lead by example showing a relentless commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. They will work together with an outstanding leadership team at the regional and system level to further strengthen their position of market leadership in Central Illinois. Additionally, the CEO will champion a data-driven approach to advance OSF HealthCare to be a national leader in quality and safety.
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a track record of driving high-performing acute care operations within a strong integrated health system. The CEO will be a visible and action-oriented leader who can build connectivity between the system and local levels of the organization, inspire others, build upon a history of strong performance, and collaborate across the organization and within the Central Illinois community. They will be a skillful communicator. The candidate must have deep experience working within operations as part of a health system and bring a history of leading improvement in quality, safety, and outcomes. They must be able to operate and thrive in a collaborative, shared leadership environment and possess stellar relationship skills with team members, physicians, and community stakeholders.
