One of the country’s largest multispecialty medical groups, Prisma Health Medical Group (PHMG), the employed provider arm of Prisma Health, is looking for a distinguished and experienced physician executive to serve as President. This executive-level position represents a unique opportunity to lead within a thriving health system in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. Established in 2017 through the merger of Greenville Health System and Palmetto Health, Prisma Health was created to best serve patients and their families. Today, the System has three regions: Columbia/Sumter (the Midlands), Greenville (the Upstate) and upcoming expansion through the planned acquisition of Blount Memorial Hospital in Tennessee. Prisma Health, comprised of 19 hospitals, the 3,700 provider Prisma Health Medical Group and numerous clinical sites, generates annual revenues close to $7 billion. Over 25,000 dedicated team members represent the organization’s most valuable resource: its people.
The President will oversee the continued integration of the medical group’s three regions and lead the advancement of an integrated and aligned medical group while partnering on quality and population health in concert with the Chief Quality Officer. This leader will ensure a contemporary model of practice and a laser focus on access, they will play a pivotal role in developing standards of excellence and delivering upon strategic recruitment and network integrity. The President is charged with advancing a culture at PHMG where providers thrive and want to practice.
The President will be a skilled physician executive who excels in unifying diverse groups of healthcare providers, physicians, and administrators at various organizational levels. This leader should be dynamic, engaging, visible and accessible, with a proactive approach to communication. An M.D. or D.O. degree is required, along with completion of a postgraduate medical education in a residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. An additional advanced degree in healthcare or a business-related field is preferred.
