Chief Executive Officer
Regional West Health Services
Scottsbluff, NE - United States
WittKieffer and Regional West Health Services (RWHS) have partnered in the national search for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-quality healthcare system as it continues its success as a regional integrated delivery system.
An independent regional health system serving western Nebraska, eastern Wyoming and northeastern Colorado, RWHS is dedicated to providing quality healthcare close to home. Today, the system continues its focus of serving the community with quality healthcare through a 188-bed hospital designated as a Level II Trauma Center and integrated medical group with 100 providers. As the leading authority for regional health care, RWHS is a respected resource dedicated to adding value directly back to the communities it serves.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will lead RWHS and its business entities to optimize the enterprise, motivate and inspire the leadership team and staff, improve the system’s competitive position, and ensure the organization’s future success. The CEO will collaborate with a committed board of directors, physician leaders and a motivated management team to lead the system to the highest levels of achievement. The CEO will possess knowledge of and experience working in a rural health care setting to include an excellent track record of building strong physician relationships and organizational partnerships, combined with a performance-driven approach to operational and financial stewardship. Given the pressures facing the nation’s hospitals with unprecedented financial losses as labor shortages, wage pressures and inflation follow a global pandemic, the next CEO will need to continue the current trajectory of improved financial performance through a combination of operational efficiencies, physician alignment and revenue growth strategies. Furthermore, the CEO must be comfortable representing RWHS externally with community organizations, donors, legislators, key stakeholders and other hospitals and health systems across the region.
The CEO will possess a minimum of seven years of CEO or other senior leadership experience in complex hospitals or health systems with a reputation for excellence. RWHS seeks a strategic, relationship-oriented leader with strong financial acumen, healthcare operations credibility, and exceptional communication skills. The next CEO must be a leader with a high emotional quotient and a “partner with” orientation. The CEO must establish themselves as visible, approachable, and personally invested in building trusting, collaborative relationships across the system, with physicians, staff, affiliate partners and the community. The CEO will be expert at guiding and managing a high-performing leadership team, creating a culture of performance and accountability across the organization, and establishing high-trust partnerships with key stakeholders to achieve results. A graduate degree in business administration, health care administration, management or related field is expected.
