Newark, CA – Stanford Medicine Partners (SMP) seeks a results-oriented, inspirational physician leader to serve as the Associate Chief Medical Officer, Clinical Operations (ACMO). This position offers a data-driven, hands-on, forward-thinking executive the ability to lead community physicians in affiliation with one of the highest-regarded academic health systems in the US. This position will be key to SMP’s success in further integrating within the greater Stanford Medicine structure, improving clinical operations and better serving the patient population in the Bay Area.
Stanford Medicine Partners is the medical foundation of Stanford Health Care, created and organized to operate medical practices. SMP was born out of the aspiration for Stanford Medicine and local, leading providers to partner together to bring high-quality care to patients within surrounding communities. Anchored by Stanford Health Care and the Stanford School of Medicine, SMP is dedicated to providing the highest standards of clinical excellence in order to ensure access for Bay Area patients to leading providers, while contributing to Stanford Medicine’s transformation into a broader and more integrated regional health system. SMP is comprised of four medical groups with over 40 clinic locations and over 300 board-certified primary care and specialty care providers located across Bay Area communities. SMP includes an affiliated IPA network – Affinity Medical Group – which provides additional high-quality, innovative, and affordable health care solutions to give patients the choices, flexibility and high standards of quality care they deserve.
The ACMO will provide leadership, vision, and operational direction in helping SMP attain its clinical mission within the community and across the Stanford enterprise. The ACMO will have direct oversight for the administrative, operational management, and quality of care delivered across SMP locations. The ACMO will supervise the SMP Medical Directors responsible for service line and programmatic responsibilities and lead all elements of the clinical model.
The successful candidate will bring experiences leading and providing clinical services within a similar medical foundation or medical group setting. Ideal candidates will be progressive, dynamic, relational leaders who know how to drive operational change, implement new programs and technological systems, lead through influence in a matrixed organization, and understand how to drive integration in a complex system. The ACMO will be a builder, a strong listener and communicator, and bring a thoughtful and steady approach and demeanor. We welcome physicians of any specialty and appropriate board certification to apply. The ability to be successfully licensed within the state of California is required.
