Cook Children’s Health Care System (Cook Children’s) seeks a dynamic, distinguished executive to serve as its next Associate Vice President, Technology Operations (AVP). This is a unique opportunity to lead the IT operations that supports a growing information technology portfolio at Cook Children’s, a $2.1 billion integrated child health system located in Fort Worth, Texas.
Reporting to the Vice President, Chief Technology Officer, the AVP is responsible for the people, process and technologies that enable organizational alignment and governance across all facets of the information technology lifecycle. This includes but is not limited to assisting with strategy, design, architecture, acquisition, implementation, support and sunset. The AVP will ensure day-to-day operations are secure, scalable, sustainable and compliant with regulations and will work to implement and facilitate enterprise architecture standards and key performance indicators.
The AVP will have primary responsibility for six key areas: Infrastructure and System Engineering, Platform Technical Design and Services, Epic Systems Engineering and Design, Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Computing and Disaster Recovery. The AVP will use a data-driven approach to identify, measure, and monitor key performance indicators across all operational areas to ensure that IT operations stakeholders are successful. The AVP is a vital member of the Cook Children’s Information Services Executive Leadership team and will work with peers to develop operational reports, dashboards, and other tools to proactively identify, communicate, and resolve any operational exceptions. The AVP will have one or more Epic certifications and use their expertise to ensure IT infrastructure services align with clinical applications and/or clinician requirements. The AVP is customer-focused and highly collaborative and will ensure input from other IT operations stakeholders is used to improve all services delivered continuously.
The ideal candidate for the AVP position will be a dynamic executive with a track record of success in information technology operations, preferably in a complex healthcare setting. They will be viewed as a trusted advisor who is genuine, collaborative and customer centric. This position requires a leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to develop relationships at all levels of an organization. The AVP will have the ability to assist in leading a premier information technology program and manage change in a growing and transforming health system.
