Springfield, MA – Baystate Health (BH), a premier, integrated, academic health system in western Massachusetts seeks an experienced and progressive pharmacy leader to serve as its next Chief Pharmacy Officer (CPO).

Anchored by Baystate Medical Center, a 730-bed academic facility, the system is composed of five hospitals, four community health centers, Baystate Medical Practices (the employed academic medical group) and more than 90 ambulatory centers. Baystate Health serves as the regional medical campus of the UMass Chan School of Medicine, educating over 100 medical students and training 380 residents and fellows annually.
The CPO will collaborate with medical, patient care, and other administrative leadership teams at the local and system levels to implement integrated and sustainable pharmacy programs that are innovative, strategic, and aligned with the Baystate Health vision. The incumbent will lead all areas of pharmacy, including Acute Care, Specialty, Retail, Clinical Programs, Pharmacy Benefit strategies, and financial performance (340B).
The incumbent will also lead medication safety, quality, and process improvement initiatives at the system level, ensuring systems are designed and implemented to ensure sustainability and reliability in the medication use process. The incumbent will oversee a medication use system that supports all areas of care provided at Baystate Health.
The successful candidate will be an innovative, collaborative, and strategic senior pharmacy leader with a demonstrated track record of developing and implementing a strategic vision for pharmacy services. The CPO must possess a passion for, and commitment to, a patient-centered care and customer-driven culture. The CPO will bring a leadership approach that demonstrates the values of transparency, empowerment, and trust amongst other executive leaders and the division of pharmacy.
