Little Rock, AR

Job Description

Witt/Kieffer has been engaged by Arkansas Children’s of Little Rock, Arkansas to recruit a Vice President, Revenue Cycle (VP RC).

Arkansas Children’s has recently embarked on several mission critical strategies that will favorably position the organization as a pediatric healthcare system that serves a very broad and diverse market service area.  The rapidly growing children’s health system consists of five sister entities: Arkansas Children’s Foundation (ACF); Arkansas Children’s Care Network (ACCN); Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) in Little Rock, a tertiary care and regional referral center; Arkansas Children’s Northwest (ACNW) in Springdale, slated to open in January 2018; and Arkansas Children's Research Institute (ACRI).  The clinical enterprise serves children who come from every county in Arkansas and throughout the United States.

During this very exciting period of growth for Arkansas Children’s the VP RC will play a pivotal system-wide role in achieving several mission critical financial strategies and goals, which includes the revenue cycle optimization of Epic (November 2017 targeted implementation of Epic).  In addition to the overall leadership of the Admissions and Patient Accounts departments, this executive functions as a key liaison between the Hospitals and Arkansas Medicaid, Medicare, and the major commercial payers for issues involving claims processing and program coverage.  The VP RC also plays an integral role in the Joint Revenue Cycle committee and also serves as the primary contact for billing and revenue cycle issues between the Hospitals and University Arkansas Medical Sciences, Medical College Physicians Group and Arkansas Children’s Medical Group.  The position reports directly to Gena Wingfield, Arkansas Children’s Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of accomplishments over a wide breadth of patient financial services/revenue cycle functions. Extensive knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare, managed care contracting, hospital admissions, revenue cycle optimization are all highly desirable and gained via 10 plus years of senior patient financial services leadership experience in a health system, academic medical center and/or children’s hospital operating environment.  A bachelor’s degree is required and an advanced degree in business/accounting and/or equivalent certification (CPA, CMA, FHFMA) preferred.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a children’s health system with a strong growth agenda and a diverse portfolio of strategic initiatives.  There is a tremendous amount of public support for Arkansas Children’s and the achievement of its overall strategic plan will be greatly enhanced by the recruitment of a highly accomplished patient financial services executive.
