Cambridge, MA – Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) seeks a collaborative primary care leader with a track record of demonstrable success to serve as their Senior Medical Director, Primary Care.  The Senior Medical Director, Primary Care role requires progressive leadership, and strong advocacy for seamless care coordination, patient access and service excellence.

Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, CHA was created in 1996 when Cambridge and Somerville Hospitals merged as a state-approved, independent public authority.  Today, it is nationally respected as an innovative integrated delivery system and accountable care organization with three acute hospital campuses, 15 primary care practices and comprehensive community psychiatric services.  CHA also operates the Cambridge Public Health Department and is the only health system in the nation that is a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School, Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and the Tufts University School of Medicine.

The Senior Medical Director will be responsible for the day-to-day clinical operational management of CHA’s Primary Care Service Line, consisting of a breadth and depth of primary care physician and clinician talent not typically found at smaller health systems.  This is a terrific opportunity for a leader who is looking for a signature role in one of the most progressive primary care practice areas in the country.  This is real a chance to make a meaningful difference in care delivery within a mission driven organization that is years ahead of the curve in the delivery of population health.

The ideal candidate will be a physician with a medical degree from an accredited school as well as board certification in Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine and/or Internal Medicine & Pediatrics.  He/she will possess or be eligible for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and will have at least five years of progressive leadership experience within a medical group or physician organization.  An advanced degree in healthcare administration or a related field is desirable.
