Job Description

Baylor Scott & White Health Austin/Round Rock region seeks a dynamic executive to serve as its next Regional Chief Nursing Officer. This role is open due to an internal promotion, and is a unique opportunity at one of the most respected healthcare institutions in the U.S.

The Regional Chief Nursing Officer will have responsibility for the clinical leadership within this rapidly growing region. This executive provides the direction and support required to affect high quality patient outcomes. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Regional CNO works closely with the System Chief Nurse Executive, Regional President and Chief Medical Officer to guide clinical services in acute care and ambulatory settings with a focus on achieving healthcare excellence.

The region operates in a Clinic model, and consists of five medical centers, a rehabilitation institute, a cancer institute and multiple ambulatory sites and clinics. These hospitals are a "universal bed concept" with pharmacy, lab, imaging and clinic on site. Two additional hospitals are scheduled to open soon. Application for Region Magnet certification has been submitted.

The Regional Chief Nursing Officer will work with the regional leadership team to conceive and apply innovative solutions to population health within a regional integrated delivery model. This is an opportunity for a nurse leader who thrives in a dynamic and entrepreneurial setting. The charge of leading a high-functioning nursing organization today while planning for nursing needs tomorrow is crucial.

Appropriate candidates will have significant experience leading nursing for multiple hospitals and/or within a complex, integrated environment noted for high quality outcomes.  Candidates must be Master's prepared, and a Doctoral degree is highly desired. The ability to work collaboratively across a matrixed region is required, as is the ability to inspire, influence and lead change. A demonstrated respect and collaboration with physicians is paramount, as is strong cross-functional communication and a track record of strengthening service lines.
