Carolinas HealthCare System is seeking a President, Children’s Service Line and the Chair of Pediatrics. This nationally recognized thought leader will guide Levine Children’s Hospital, Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital, as well as five other inpatient sites to continue the journey to be the destination for quality child care in the Charlotte metropolitan area, the states of North Carolina and South Carolina and beyond.

Carolinas HealthCare System (CHS) represents a diverse network of more than 940 care locations and is comprised of more than 62,000 full-time and part-time employees, more than 7,400 operating beds (acute care and post-acute care) and an annual operating revenue exceeding $9 billion (comparable to many Fortune 500 companies). CHS Children’s Services treats more pediatric patients per day than any other program in North Carolina and South Carolina.

The President, CHS Children’s Service Line (President) will provide overall executive leadership to Children’s Services of Carolinas HealthCare System, which includes responsibility for the primary care pediatric physicians and the pediatric specialists within the CHS medical group and all associated clinics and services that comprise the pediatrics service line. The President will align all providers including employed and community-based physicians with the goals and directions of the Carolinas HealthCare System. The President and Chair of Pediatrics will also lead outstanding educational programs, including the pediatric residency, build new and expand current clinical and translational research initiatives and establish state-of-the-art clinical services across the System. In this very important role, the President and Chair of Pediatrics will report to the Executive Vice President and Chief Physician Executive.

The President will have a minimum of 10 years of management and medical practice experience within a complex academic medical center and/or teaching children’s hospital. Candidates will demonstrate a successful track record of accomplishments in pediatric leadership as well as be recognized for their clinical care, education and research. Candidates will be able to establish a culture of physician engagement, accountability and shared responsibility for patient safety and quality of care delivered.
