Hospital for Special Surgery - Florida Executive

West Palm Beach, FL

Job Description

One of healthcare's most successful, respected and innovative organizations, Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) is pleased to announce the recruitment of a newly created leadership role, Florida Executive, who will lead the expansion, development and operations of the new facility in the Florida market. Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), the world leader in musculoskeletal health, is expanding their footprint through the establishment of an HSS facility in West Palm Beach, Florida. HSS Florida will be a comprehensive orthopedic and sports medicine facility offering the same level of quality care delivered at the HSS main campus in New York. For the past four years, HSS has been serving the West Palm Beach community through an ambassador office liaison in Royal Palm Way. During this time demand for HSS expertise has quadrupled. HSS Florida will open this new facility in November 2019 to better serve the needs of patients seeking care in this region.

HSS is seeking an exceptional healthcare executive to lead this exciting market expansion. HSS has a proven track record of extending its ambulatory care services while maintaining excellence in patient care, and this new leader will ensure this success continues with HSS Florida. Current ambulatory sites include New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. While HSS has entered into joint management agreements in several markets, HSS Florida will be the first HSS-branded site outside of the Tri-State area.

The HSS Florida Executive will be charged with executing the launch and on-going operation of this new market.  Key objectives for this leader will be the successful transfer of the HSS brand, quality, and culture to HSS Florida. The appropriate candidates will have the ability to guide operations and ensure that that quality and patient experience meet HSS high standards. Likewise, candidates will be adept in identifying opportunities for strategic market development locally, regionally and internationally.

The Florida Executive will partner with Florida Medical Director, Dr. George Paletta, a renowned orthopedic surgeon in ensuring the delivery of quality patient care and experience.

The new outpatient center is a joint venture with USPI, a leader in ambulatory surgery centers. HSS maintains management control of the facility and will ensure that HSS’ excellence in patient care is sustained.

This is a career defining opportunity, to join the world’s leading academic medical center focused on musculoskeletal health. HSS has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the nation's top orthopedics hospital for nine consecutive years. Its "Net Promoter Score," a leading indicator of customer satisfaction, is on par with that of Apple Inc. and other organizations that far outpace competitors. This role offers the ability to join HSS organization during a time of multi-dimensional and international growth. Additionally, qualified candidates will be energized by the challenge of leading this pivotal new venture and joining an exceptional leadership team.

Experience will include ten or more years of healthcare leadership experience including P&L, operations, strategy and growth. Experience in orthopedics is preferred but not required. Of utmost importance is the ability to nimbly export the elite HSS brand, operation, and patient experience to this market.  Qualified candidates will be Master's prepared.
