Augusta University (AU) invites nominations and applications for the position, Dean, College of Nursing. 

AU College of Nursing is the University System of Georgia's flagship nursing school.  The College awards baccalaureate degrees to traditional and second-degree students.  Graduate education offered by the College includes the MSN, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Ph.D. Total enrollment for the College in Fall 2018 was 936 students, representing ten percent of overall enrollment for the University.  There are 70 full-time faculty members; programs are offered in Augusta and the satellite campus in Athens.

AU College of Nursing's main campus is located on Augusta University's Health Sciences Campus, which includes the Medical College of Georgia, the College of Allied Health Sciences, the Dental College of Georgia and the Graduate School.  Home to Georgia's only public academic medical center, the campus also includes the 478-bed Augusta University Medical Center and the 154-bed Children's Hospital of Georgia.

The Dean will provide leadership as the chief academic and administrative officer of the College and its two departments, Biobehavioral Nursing and Physiological & Technological Nursing, as well as its affiliate offices and centers: Office of Academic and Student Affairs, the Office of Strategic Management, the Center for Nursing Research, and the Center for Strategic Initiatives. Reporting to the Provost, the Dean will provide strategic vision and operational leadership to all aspects of the academic and scholarly program, fostering a positive and productive work environment that promotes excellence in teaching, practice, and research. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate national leadership in teaching, research, and public service.  Minimum requirement is a doctoral degree (Ph.D. in nursing preferred or a related field); a record of distinguished teaching and research; substantial administrative experience; proven success in securing external funding with public agencies and private donors; and credentials that merit appointment at the rank of Professor.  The successful candidate will be a person of high integrity, who is creative, courageous and a risk-taker, able to build coalitions and work collaboratively.
