The current CNE will be retiring after an accomplished 10+ year career that includes leading Bayhealth to its first Magnet designation. The SVP/CNE is a critical member of the executive leadership team at Bayhealth and will oversee nursing at a system level. The SVP/CNE will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. Senior Vice President/Chief Nursing Executive is a key senior leader and member of the Executive Leadership Team. The CNE is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of nursing operations system wide. The SVP/CNE directly oversees the organization of coordinators, administration and operational planning for the following areas: Nursing, Pharmacy, Emergency, CRNA’s and Staff Development Departments. The SVP/CNE will be a visionary leader that brings clinical solutions to the new value-based delivery of care and exhibit a demonstrated ability to drive results, champion innovation and stimulate new thinking.
Previous experience as a Chief Nurse Executive is strongly preferred; however, candidates with senior level nursing leadership experience will be considered. Experience in a Magnet environment is strongly preferred. Evidence of progressive experience in nursing leadership, including at least seven years experience in nursing administration in an acute care setting is required. A Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field and a Master’s degree in nursing or a related field is required. One of the degrees must be in Nursing. Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Delaware or eligible to receive such a license.
