Job Description

AMITA Health Medical Group has retained Witt/Kieffer to assist in their search for a dynamic, experienced financial executive to serve as its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO).  The CFO will be responsible for the overall financial performance of one the largest medical groups in Illinois.

The AMITA Health Medical Group (AHMG) is the affiliated physician enterprise of AMITA Health.  AHMG is comprised of 700 multi-specialty providers, with over 200 sites and a budget of approximately $400 million.  AHMG was formed with the creation of AMITA Health, which brought together the employed providers of Adventist Midwest and Alexian Brothers Medical Group.  In early 2018, Presence Health and the Presence Medical Group affiliated with AMITA Health, adding over 250 additional providers to AHMG.  This continued growth and integration provides for additional opportunity to build upon the success of these legacy organizations, while also leading to new opportunities for growth in the physician enterprise and ambulatory services.  Headquartered in Lisle, Illinois, AMITA Health now operates 19 hospitals, more than 230 outpatient sites, and 7,000 affiliated physician partners across Chicagoland.

The next CFO will join an organization that has experienced rapid organizational growth.  With the addition of the new providers and acute care hospitals, the CFO will have the opportunity to partner with organizational leadership on service rationalization, revenue integrity initiatives and enhancement of financial operations across the system.  The CFO will need to work closely with both AHMG leadership and AMITA finance leadership to lead the medical group to overall positive financial outcomes.  The opportunity to reduce investment per provider, while also growing the ambulatory footprint and enhancing collaboration across the enterprise are areas where this CFO can make an immediate impact.

Candidates should have experience in financial leadership within a large medical group, faculty practice plan and/or health system that has a large number of employed physicians.  The next CFO will need to be a strong mentor to others, who can help to coach and build a strong pipeline of talent.  A transparent and genuine style, combined with the ability to build strong partnerships and lead in a collaborative manner across a large, highly matrixed health system will be required.  All nominations and recommendations will be handled with the utmost professional courtesy and confidentiality.
