Concetta M. Stewart, Ph.D.


Concetta M. Stewart, Ph.D., is a principal in the Education Practice at Witt/Kieffer. Based near Philadelphia, Concetta brings to her recruiting work vast experience as a teacher, mentor, and administrator as well as expertise across academic affairs, art and design, and technology and communications. She supports executive recruitments in these areas and for other key senior-level positions including presidents and provosts.

Prior to joining Witt/Kieffer, Concetta served as provost and vice president of academic affairs for Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York. In this role she provided academic, fiscal, and strategic leadership in academic affairs, exercising responsibility for a budget of more than $30 million across 90 graduate and undergraduate programs. Her tenure at Mercy included serving as the institution’s interim president during the 2013-14 academic year.

Other past roles in higher education have included serving as dean and professor of the School of Art and Design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, and as dean of the School of Communications and Theater at Temple University. Among current endeavors, Concetta serves as chair of the board of The American College of Greece and emerita member of the Network Executive Council of ACE’s Inclusive Excellence Group. Concetta has published and presented widely on subjects relating to communications, education and technology including her edited volume titled, “Teaching and Learning with Technology: Beyond Constructivism.”
